What is typically used for the plywood sheathing under the roof, is it 1/2 or 5/8?
Also, wouldn't it be better to take off the entire shingles instead of cutting them in a straight line with a razor knife?
Is there a reason you used a double nail pattern on the new shingles?

Thanks for this video! Man, you are a roof God. I thought when I saw that the video was over an hour long, there was no way I was gonna watch the whole thing, but I’m glad I did. I don’t mean to be mean or anything, but you made that guy on the roof with you, obsolete. He must be the homeowner or someone in training. I am definitely inspired to do my own roof work but, laying the shingles and knowing exactly what piece the cut, is confusing.

i I just did my roof and because i am not satisfizo how they did it I say let me learn how to do a roof myself. light expose in some part of my roof because they broke some woods and i had a lean around the skylight. I don't know what to do. I asked then to fin it, they came and they only fixed the leak around the skylight.I am worry of that part where i can see the light coming through the roof. what should I do in this situation?

Everything not too bad, but why not caulk the the old nail holes, while you're going along? Wouldn't it still leak rather than add another nail? Just adding another nail without caulking seems a little weird to me? Plus it wouldn't stay with weather conditions, especially with how damaged the plywood was!

This is the best roof repair video I’ve seen, and I’ve been watching a lot of videos on the subject. This guy does such a good job. We need more hard working skilled people like this.

This has inspired me to do stuff. Just bought a property that has a severe roof leak. Mister, May I ask something? It will sound stupid but as far as the Nails, what is the length of the nails used (plywood to base-frame) and then from the shingles to the roof felt material. Thank you
